The Wadena Housing and Redevelopment Authority offers low interest home improvement loans to low income single and family persons living in the City of Wadena. These loans are on a first come, first served basis and are available if the Housing Authority has funds available at the time of application. Funds may also be available to landlords having property in the City of Wadena that are in need of repairs to their rental properties.

Some improvements that qualify for a loan include:

• Defective plumbing, heating or electrical hazards
• Roof, windows and doors
• Floor coverings (if proven to be a hazard)
• Siding or entrance steps
• Ramps and bathroom accessibility conversions
